3 1/2-year-old dressed as
Foxxy Cleopatra?
happened to see "Austin Powers in Goldmember" and suddenly I had to
limit it to once a day! We do forward past a few parts and cough loudly
over a word or two. She even tells us when the bad parts are coming to
make sure we pass them. (Good girl.)
Lexy loved Foxxy Cleopatra, played by Beyoncé Knowles, and started
saying, "I'm Foxxy Cleopatra and I'm a WHOLE LOTTA WOMAN!"
When we were thinking about what Lexy could be for Halloween, it just
seemed perfect. Lexy loved the character and cracked everyone up
when she would say her line. Of course I can't just find a costume or
choose something easy, anyway.
Believe it or not, I made Lexy's costume myself - with no pattern. You
can't see the detail in the pictures, but there are gold glitter dots up the
sides of her pants, on the cuffs and collar. I don't mean to toot my own
horn, but I made the necklace, too. Ty and I wanted to be other
characters from the movie, but we ran out of time and money to do it.
Honestly, we love this movie. It is the 3rd Austin Powers movie and
by far the best. We watch it almost every day and we laugh more
each time! The movie is filled with subtle details that crack us up.
Now Lexy has been quoting other lines from the movie (with the
characters' accents and voice inflections) and fitting them into normal
conversation. If you know Lexy, you know how animated and articulate
she is and how much she amazes and cracks everyone up. I'll try to
catch her movie quotes as video clips and add them to this page.
